PATH Artists-In-Residence Project
A multicultural, intergenerational, skillshare collective

The PAIR Project is a creative, personal, and professional development residency for qualified artists, scholars and arts administrators from around the world whose work is informed by Hip Hop culture. PAIR artists/administrators spend a minimum of 2 weeks and up to 1 year: 

1) developing their own work in collaboration with local artists

2) connecting with the Hiphop/arts community around PATH’s mission and programs

3) utilizing the PATH Truthrisery, a collection of Hip Hop resources, to inspire new work or build on existing work

Ideal applicants should:

  • Be 16+ years of age by the residency start date
  • Have intermediate verbal and written communication proficiency in English
  • Have a track record of creative production, community engagement and/or education experience in arts and culture
  • Have a portfolio of creative/administrative work that harmonizes with the mission of PATH, Inc.
  • Have experience working with youth and/or adults from diverse backgrounds
  • Be available to spend at least 3-4 hours/ week on residency activities (including personal portfolios)

International applicants only (if coming to the U.S.):
  • Possess a valid passport and clearance to travel to and from the U.S. (we will provide a visa for your visit)
  • Have matching support from a local institution/ business/ benefactor
  • A negotiable stipend paid directly to the artist for participation
  • Opportunity to collaborate with a colleague in the arts or arts administration
  • Access to community partners’ spaces and resources to create/ revise and present work in Miami
  • Opportunity to showcase your work publicly in an arts venue in Miami
  • Collaborative work time/ space with other talented artists-in-residence

International applicants

  • One round-trip airline ticket from your home country to Miami, FL and back
  • Shared housing (homestay or private residence) for up to 3 weeks
  • One meal per day in community with PATH stakeholders (students, families, Board of Directors, community partners, staff, friends, etc.)

Fall Retreat: November 5, 2023

Winter Retreat: December 27 – 29, 2023

Closing Evaluation: End of residency

Ongoing communication with PATH staff

Facilitate 6 (minimum) element workshops

Participate in 2 – 3 exhibitions/performances (November, May, August)*

Attend 4 master classes (one/quarter)

4 CPP experiences (Nu Deco, Museum of Graffiti, workshops, events, etc.)

*Dates may vary but will center around November: Hip Hop History Month 2023, May: Hip Hop Appreciation Week 2024, and August: Hip Hop Recognition Month 2024.
