We'll bring the stage. We'll bring the people. You'll bring new truths to light.

TRAVEL around the city.
UNCOVER unique stories.
(RE)CREATE the stories with an all star team.
SHARE your work with an audience.

Our Directors will select up to 15  talented teens for Miami OURstory, an evening length performance about the Miami that the world doesn’t usually get to see. The  project takes teens to different neighborhoods to explore and create work inspired by the PEOPLE + PLACES + THINGS that are truly Miami. Under the direction of an all-star team of directors, we’ll uncover, recover and discover stories that have shaped the Miami we all know and love.

Miami OURstory is a Knight Arts Challenge project that gathers teen artists (ages 14 – 18) for a series of creative, site-based workshops and art-making experiences that explore the intersection of identity and community through the lens of a city in transition. The project connects teens with PEOPLE + PLACES + THINGS that signal and drive change in Miami. Through collaboration with industry professionals and teaching artists, the cohort will examine and map how Miami is changing, why it’s changing and how/where they fit in.

Project Partners: Art in Public Places, Combat Hippies, Culture Shock Miami, D-Projects, History Miami, Miami City Ballet, Miami Dade County Public Library Systems, Miami Light Project, Poetic Lakay + more
