Goal:  To use creative self-expression (writing/emceeing/rapping/spoken word) to reduce the magnitude and frequency of self-destructive behaviors by building confidence, character, self-reflection and follow through; Develop increased consciousness about the client’s thoughts and feelings through creative self-expression – both structured (guided writing, revision, presentation) and spontaneous (freestyle, free write, stream of consciousness writing, etc.); Introduce written and performed self-expression as an effective coping mechanism
