$25Multi-Lingual Slinging Hip-Hop Artist Y-Love Brings Culturally Diverse Blend Of Rhyme To Miami
Y-Love and Diwon are part of the new guard of hip hop revolutionaries. Y-Love’s rhymes seamlessly intertwine English, Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Latin, combining ethereal scripture with gritty social consciousness; Diwon’s beats fuse electro hip hop with traditional Yemenite and Sephardic music. They have performed with luminaries as varied and respected as Lou Reed, Anthony Coleman, Idan Raichel, DJ Spooky, Matisyahu, Steinski, and Immortal Technique. Together, Y-Love and Diwon create “global hip hop” that aims to promote unity and tear down social boundaries.
Guava Rugelach Lounge programs are presented under the palms in our outdoor lounge setting. Refreshments always available, including our Guava Rugelach cocktail featuring L’Chaim Vodka and the best guava rugelach pastries you’ll ever taste!
Tickets are $25 general admission, $20 for students, seniors and artists, and may be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com or 800-838-3006.
Y-Love will also be featured at a “Jews in Hip-Hop” panel discussion with Miami hip-hop artists Seth “Brimstone” Schere, DJ Trails (Hip-Hop Elements) and others, on Thursday, February 14 at 7 p.m. at Next@19th.
